Lost camera in Japan - Contax T2

At the beginning of 2024, a film camera came into my hands, it was a Contax T2 in good condition and that a traveler in my group had found days earlier in Japan. Finding the owner of the camera was an almost impossible task, and they didn't even recommend that we leave it in the lost and found, because we didn't know where they had lost it or how many days ago. And that's how it ended up in my hands. (Video also on my Youtube channel )

Determined to use it and give it a new life, the camera had found a new owner. If it were a horror story, surely the camera would take photos premonitioning a disastrous future or could it be a camera that had the power to portray ghosts?

Leaving fiction aside, there was a roll inside. I put it away, checked that the camera was in good condition, and put a new one in. Time to look for and learn how the Contax T2 works. It is a very easy-to-use "point & shoot" camera. The autofocus works quite well for an analog camera, but my only problem was not realizing how to activate the flash correctly. It wasn't until months later that my father managed to do it in 1 minute. Too late for me too because he had already shot and developed an entire roll.

Throughout 2024 I was using the camera during my trips to Japan, and finally, for Christmas I took the 2 rolls to develop. I thought it was spectacular when the store told me that they would have the photos ready in 3 hours. It was time to discover a little more about the mysterious previous owner.

For privacy reasons I won't post any of the photos, but what I can say is that they are from a trip, and you can see the love and dedication that the previous owner had towards photography. I couldn't even compare them to mine, as I had just learned how the Contax T2 works and what I had done was put it to the test during my travels, and also some portraits of family and friends (which for privacy reasons I won't show you either). It was seeing the results and the potential of the camera that motivated me to continue using it, especially for special moments. It is a camera with which I will capture moments that I want to have printed on paper, put in albums, or framed to have at home. A camera that will now accompany me, and I hope not to lose it.
